Back in 1991, my son and I were sitting around his pool late one night , quaffing a few, contemplating the future of his children and my grandchildren, when the subject turned to what is the most dangerous landmines out here to abort America's future?

We came to the conclusion that it would probably be:
1. A Capitalist China, India, and Russia.
2. A Dictatorial Central Government consuming our Constitution
3. Apathy of our people
I believe that we were good predictors and smart enough to see the train coming, but would that knowledge and ability be worth anything, if we were apathetic?
Isn't the answer around us completely at this moment in time?

Well, I agree with most of what you say (that capitalist China, India, Russia would necessarily be our enemies was not a given in 1991 - we work hard to make it so to keep our military-industrial complex in business).
