"Ask an average Nigerian on the streets of Lagos how he is and he will likely tell you "things dey hard, but we dey manage" -- it's tough but we're getting by."

"Healthcare is virtually non-existent, the roads are potholed, unemployment and crime are on the rise, and Nigeria is suffering from spiraling food prices."

"Nigeria is making more money from oil now, but look at the street we are living on," said Efe Oyingbo, pointing to a dirt road where passers-by waddle through muddy waters and motorists try to navigate cavernous, submerged potholes."

That's the way it is across most of Africa.

The ruling classes keep everything for their family and friends.

Everybody else just accepts it because they know that if they were in power they'd do exactly the same thing. It's just understood.

Who evers in power, that's who we are importing oil from, and that's who we depend on for our energy policy. Our entire national economy is based on cheap oil. All agriculture is based on cheap oil for fertilizer, pesticides, herbicides, fungacides, cheap oil to plow the fields and cheap oil to harvest, cheap oil to truck strawberries from mexico. Cheap oil to ship raw maaterials to China, cheap oil to ship finished chinese cheap goods to America, cheap oil to truck them to walmart, cheap oil to drive 20 miles to save 2 bucks a back on cheap underwear, cheap bycycles, cheap clothes, cheap food.

We depend on the Nigerian baboons and Saudi Ruling warlords, protected by a 100 thousdand man army (USA financed and trained and weaponed) that protect the Saudi ruling class (family) from the regular Saudi army and extreamist muslims who attacked us on 9/11.

Yet, listen the the war/oil profiteers whine about more drilling as the solution, more cheap oil.

In the strongest terms, antibrainwasher, I totally reject your racist term 'baboon' when talking about Nigerians. It is your complete misunderstanding of the unreported problem there that exposes you as the baboon. Red China is exploiting Nigeria by bring in their own Chinese labor force rather than employing local labor. I would bomb the pipelines too if I was capable of working and was not even considered employable. Yes, I would make it very difficult to do business in my country until the employment field was level.

Get a life, dig deeper for more facts related to this story, and keep your racist comments out of Propeller.
