And the BBC has reported on the tent city in California. Where do you hear about that on the MSM? Shame on the media. Shame on the government for spending money it didn't have and shame on the Fed for obligingly printing more to save Bear Stearns and others. The little people will get it in the neck. With falling real estate prices, can you believe they raised the appraisal on my home for tax purposes?
I think it's time for a new tea party.

Seriously, since my teen thinks the idea of a scooter no matter how cool is stupid (until one of his friends gets one.), I'm considering a scooter for in city driving (to and from work) and errands. There are some pretty cool looking ones. For around $2,000.00 to purchase one and $300.00 a year to insure (may get a discount if I go with the same company) it's not that bad an idea.
As far as movies go, I'm sure rentals are up. I know at the libraries the most popular newer releases are always checked out. For .25 cents a night per movie it's cheaper than Hollywood Video. Though Hollywood if you watch the mail has a free rental coupon every couple months that's worth it.
I also saw that attendance at Nevada's brothels is suffering.

What is amazing to me is, that instead of stating facts that the economies problems what it is; "the good paying jobs are gone and bank accounts are becoming empty, instead of saying that; "peoples confidence is down"! It is what it is; People can't spend what they aren't paid!
Thanks engineer! Nice find!

I don't think things are any better up here in Canada, We have a booming energy sector but alot of other things have fallen flat. I live right along a major highway and you know when things are getting tougher by the traffic on long weekends. On our May long weekend the parade of campers ot RVs was basically non exsistant and this July 1st weekend the highway has been dead but we have fuel prices over 5 dollars a gallon so many cannot run around the country. As bad as things are right now I fear next summer will be far worse, if there is a cold winter consumers in the northern US. and Canada are going to enter next year broke and there are going to be large tax increases by different levels of goernment to try and maintain services and infrastructure.
