not really. the next stage of bank "problems" could be a bit extreme, partly because these obligations don't appear on the banks' balance sheets.
most voices that talk about any of this have a huge financial stake in the outcome, so they avoid any likelihood of doom. the others, who are more detached, marvel that it has held together for as long as it has.

And meanwhile governments are desperately trying to bail out speculators at taxpayer expense. This is a repeat of the corruption seen in the Reagan/Bush daddy Savings and Loan scandal at far greater scale.
