The Flat Tax: Too Little Too Soon. »
Posted by: populist 4 months, 2 weeks agoFederal taxation will exist so long as there is a Federal government, obviously. There are some proposals to make the Federal Income Tax less onerous. A Flat tax would be handled just like the Social Security a percentage taken out of a paycheck and was not suppose to exceed 3 1/2%. Open that door to the flat tax and the sky will be the limit and will be more than most working people are paying now!
We use to be able to deduct the interest paid on cars, credit cards and loans of all types, those deductions are all gone!

Without taxes maybe the government would learn to be frugal. Doubtful. Taxes are like a license to steal and a endless supply for the greedy.

I like a the Fair Tax.. with some modifications.. and EVERYONE PAYS... rich, poor...
rich people buy rich people stuff...
poor people buy poor people stuff..
people who now pay little or NO tax.. would get to contribute...
not only the Butcher, The Baker and the Candlestick Maker.. but the Pimp, the Drug Dealer, the Hooker.. the Handyman who gives you a special deal for CASH..
EVERYONE PAYS.. SOMETHING.. and the best part YOU GET TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH YOU PAY...

I agree. I think the fair tax would be great. Even the flat tax in a lot of the eastern block nations has been working well.

I like the idea of the fair tax as well. However, an income tax of some kind would still have to exist as well as a form of waiver for poor to purchase X amount of food and other necessities without paying taxes on it.

Taxes and death, two certainties. But, there is nothing wrong with taxes as long as the government spends the money wisely. Much better for the government to use its tax dollars to help its citizens rather than fund immoral and illegal wars on the other side of the world.

And what, if we didn't had/have "immoral and illegal wars on the other side of the world", would all these industries and their employees do?
Could they have JOB and keep they families together?
