A week has passed since spring breakers bolted for the beach and other vacation hot spots.But gas prices, which spiked in the days before the break, still are increasing. And high gas prices are spiking drivers' tempers.

Blame OPEC, speculators. Gas companies percentage of the price stays about the same even though higher crude prices raising the selling price makes more $ for them. Consider that they will make the same percentage of profit even if it is more dollars. $1 per gal may equal $.10 in profit, $2 pg $.20, profit doubled in $ not in percentage.

  ...gas company percentage remains the same... and it was a record profit last year at 40 billion... to continue under Dubya... with only the subsidies to drop due to a Dem Congress.

What ugly Americans don't know is that the invasion and destruction of Iraq has virtually stopped all oil that previously flowed from that country. Sadam was dumping oil at cheap under food for oil UN program. Now that supply line is dry, there is so much less oil in the market.
They still believe the oil barons in WH that Iraq is really war on terror. BS.

I used to pump gas when I was a teenager. I am always nice to my gas attendant. Trust me what gas attendants really hate is to check every problem with your car while your fueling up.

Until the US develops new and cheaper enrgy sources this situation won't change. The big oil companies won't allow it.

  I doubt if the big oil companies are going to allow cheaper energy sources to make it to market unless they have absolutely no choice.

there is only one way to make these station do what is right and that is not to buy anything eles in there stores.that mean station will hold back on price hikes.they know that americans will pat anything.its not the war,FOX.MBC,CBS,ABC OR EVEN THE ANIMAL NETWORK or anything eles thats going on,its we the peaple let it happen to ourself.if we do not get out ang tell thesw oil co.we are unhappy with there servise ,than we will live like the drons that we have become.(BE THE VOICE TO BE HEARD)

It is a shame. The attendants have nothing to do with the prices. On the other hand, if drivers don't vent while parked, they'll begin killing each other on the highways. Venting prevents road rage.

??? I thought that the DEM'S were going to see that the GREEDY OIL CO.lower the prices?
Maybe now people will see that all politicans are full of crap,or maybe the LIBS will find a way to blame PRES.BUSH(again)

Wait until summer. Then the gas companies can gouge us really bad.
We have accepted it in the past so we can't complain about it now. Just let them keep making profits on our sweat and tears.

My question is how can it be legal for the gas stations to charge one price for a truckload of gas and then increase the price of gas the next day for the same truckload of gas? Seems to me they shouldn't be able to increase the price until they refilled ther underground tanks with new gas.
