And, San Franciso is NOT the only place where this is true. In fact, MOST municipal water supplies are more thoroughly tested, and more tightly regulated, than the bottled water industry. Add to that the fact that bottled water costs MORE than gasoline (sometimes WAY more), and it's clear that buying and drinking the stuff everyday is just pain old stupid. Penn and Teller ran a test - put regular tap water (from a garden hose, no less...) into a bottle with a fancy label and told a bunch of people it was expensive bottled water. Every single one of them bought it - couldn't tell the difference.

A home reverse osmosis system is relatively inexpensive (you can get a small one for a few hundred dollars) and produce as much 'bottled water' quality water as you want. You would even have water left over for your pets.

Check out http://www.homeosmosis.com for information on how they work and small (and large) home systems.

Do your part to stop the waste of these bottles, and save some money in the process! Pay back time on a small system 3-6 months depending on family size.
